Our outdoor excursion programme
Primary Rainforest Trek ( full day): Our most demanding excursion covers eight kilometres of forested ridge trail with a resident naturalist. The route passes three viewpoints, two river crossings, and a stand of trees believed to be over 400 years old.
Hidden Waterfall Walk (half day): A gentler two-hour trail through the lower jungle leads to a tiered waterfall with natural swimming pools at each level. The trail surface is well-maintained and suitable for most fitness levels.
Open Ocean Kayak Expedition (half day): Departing by kayak from our main beach, this four-hour guided paddle follows the coastline north through a series of sea caves and around a protected headland. Sea conditions are assessed daily.
Mangrove Estuary Paddle (2 hours): A quieter, gentler paddle through the tidal channels of the eastern estuary. Wildlife sightings are frequent — kingfishers, otters, monitor lizards, and migratory waders depending on the season.
Coral Reef Dive (beginner to advanced): Our PADI-certified dive guides lead excursions to four distinct reef sites at varying depths. Beginners complete a forty-five-minute pool orientation before their first open-water dive.
Dawn Birdwatching Walk (90 minutes): Leaving at 5:15 AM before most guests are awake, this walk covers the forested eastern edge of the resort and an adjacent wetland area. Over 140 bird species have been recorded in this corridor.
Village Cultural Walk (half day): A three-kilometre coastal walk leads to the village of Kesali, where residents welcome small groups for a guided walking tour, traditional lunch, and a craft demonstration.
Night Safari by Kayak (2 hours): As darkness falls, the estuary transforms. Bioluminescent plankton illuminate paddle strokes while nocturnal wildlife becomes active in the mangrove roots. Guided in total silence.
Outdoor experiences add excitement and depth to your stay, making it truly unforgettable. The natural world around Serenova rewards those who venture into it. Pack light, start early, and trust your guide. The rest takes care of itself.
